This week in AI: Anthropic's Dispatch lets you text Claude while it works your desktop, Google turns AI Studio into a full-stack app builder, and NVIDIA spends $20B to own the inference layer.
They're been relentless recently, and their CC channels / dispatch features prove it, especially after OAI acqui-hired OpenClaw. Makes the competition even more fierce.
The 'claws back' read on Anthropic's position makes sense given the recent release velocity. Computer use, Dispatch, Channels, Cowork updates - all within weeks of each other. Went through the whole Dispatch setup and ran computer use tasks that used to need a separate tool stack. The positioning shift is real: this is about being the operating layer, not just the model layer.
Anthropic continues to ship at warp speed. It’s feeling more and more like a two-horse race between them and Google right now.

Worth watching how OpenAI responds to the access-channel framing specifically - that seems like the harder move to replicate. https://thoughts.jock.pl/p/claude-cowork-dispatch-computer-use-honest-agent-review-2026
Great post, Alex. That “light and shade” bit stuck with me.
Feels like we’ve built a machine to give us our time back… and now we’re nervously checking if it plans to keep some of it. Funny how that works.
People say they want productivity. What they really want is a quiet moment. Dinner without a screen. A walk that isn’t interrupted.
AI might help with that. Or it might just become another thing asking for our attention.
Appreciate you putting this out each week.
